He teaches human resource management, organizational leadership, change management, and data-driven decision making in the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Master of Science in Business programs. He spent more than 15 years as Management Professor in New Jersey, Maine, and China.
His path into management scholarship began in engineering. He earned a Bachelor and a Master of Engineering from Inha University. He then worked for five years at Robert Bosch in Korea as an R&D engineer and project manager, where he launched anti-lock brake system motor lines supplied to automakers in Asia, Europe, and North America.
He went on to earn MBAs from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management and from HHL-Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and consulted for Dow Chemical, Vita 34, and the EON Group.
He completed his PhD in Human Resource Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014. While there, he co-founded UC Smiles, a local-currency social enterprise that grew to more than 75 participating businesses.
Dr. Choi is Principal Investigator of an international Workplace Toxicity Research Initiative, a Review Board member for Human Resource Development Quarterly, and a member of AI Faculty Council.
He co-founded the K-GSP Forum in 2026 and serves as Managing Editor of the Journal of K-Global Scholars and Professionals. He works in English, Korean, and Chinese.
