His academic background brings together economics, manufacturing management, engineering, and global supply chain strategy. He earned a B.A. in Economics from Yonsei University, an M.A. in Economics from Bowling Green State University, and a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Management and Engineering from the University of Toledo.
His research looks at how firms and nations compete in global production networks. His current work focuses more and more on where global supply chains, strategic industries, AI-enabled transformation, and geo-economic relations among major economies meet. A question runs through it: how can firms and nations balance efficiency, resilience, strategic autonomy, and international cooperation in an increasingly complex world?
